welcome
Stephen C. Archer and R. Hilliard "Hilly" Ebling have both returned to the board of trustees on which they served for many years prior to their terms ending a year ago. Montserrat bylaws call for trustees to leave the board for a year or more following three, three-year terms, and both were invited back.
In addition, three new trustees have been elected, William H. Hess, Deborah McKenna, and Joyce Moore.
Executive VP International Operations and President, Latin America and EMEA for American Tower Corp., William H. "Hal" Hess joined the board this fall. He was previously a partner in the law firm of King & Spalding LLP. Prior to law school, Hal was a certified public accountant
with Arthur Young & Co. He received his J.D. Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law and is a graduate of Harding University. He is also a trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. He lives in Boston with his wife and children.
Deborah McKenna brings extensive non-profit board experience. She is a former chair of the board of Shore Country Day School, secretary of the board of the YMCA of the North Shore, and treasurer of the Independent School Chairpersons Association. Her
professional resume includes tenures as vice president for Shawmut Bank and as a development and governance consultant for Jaques & Company. She graduated with a BA in English from the University of Colorado. She and her husband, Tim, reside in Manchester and Montana.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to two very special trustees who completed their terms in June 2011. We thank these engaged and committed board members for their hard work and successes on behalf of the college. Among their accomplishments, both served on the search committee that identified and hired Stephen D. Immerman as president of Montserrat in 2009.
Vice Chair Lecia Turcotte joined Montserrat College of Art's board in 2005. She is an accomplished artist, part-time Montserrat painting student, and passionate advocate for the college and the arts. Among her many initiatives she led Montserrat’s Committee on Trustees and numerous other efforts to advance the college. Her endless energy has been an inspiration to all who know her, and we look forward to keeping Lecia’s enthusiasm enlivening Montserrat’s campus!
Katherine "Kitty" Winter has been with the college since its early days, first officially joining the Board of Trustees in 1989 following the establishment of a separate board for the college. Kitty has been a terrific major supporter who has served with distinction on a number of board committees. Kitty is also an intrepid Antarctic traveler and photographer, which has proven handy more than once in her mid- winter travels to Montserrat from her home in Boston. l
