Erik Lomen


Erik Lomen '10 created a mural that covers walls on five different floors at 22 Federal St., Beverly. Each of the walls was simultaneously created and represents poets from the North Shore. Erik’s mural inspired a poetry reading Sept. 24 featuring all the artists.


Adam Miller '00, creative director for Terminal Press, co-created the ZombieBomb! comic anthology in 2009. With the contributions from several Montserrat alumni, the brand has spiraled into a YouTube documentary series, an iPad app, and a spinoff book titled ZombieBomb! Adam exhibited at the Halcyon and Genuine Artikle galleries, both in NYC, has appeared on G4TV and is a frequent guest at comic cons around the country. His work has been mentioned by Ain’t It Cool News, Fangoria, and MSNBC. His ZombieBomb! artwork was on display at Gulu-Gulu Café, Salem during Halloween.


Gail Boucher '02 was featured in both North Shore Life magazine and North Shore magazine for her Goytaku fish impressions. Gail exhibited her prints and acrylics at the Newburyport Art Association in a show entitled In The Sea & On The Sea in September.

Eric Hopkins '71 held a book signing and illustrated talk for his most recent book Eric Hopkins: Above and Beyond at the Farnsworth Art Museum Library, Rockland, ME on Sept. 22.


Daniel Hasson '01, international customer account specialist for EBSCO Publishing, is currently exploring photography through portraits dphimage.com. His wife, Allison Souza '01, works as a free-lance graphic designer for SONY Pictures Asia allisonsouza. com. The couple met at Montserrat, graduated together and now has a two-year-old son, Julian.


Michael Nevin '04 is founder and editor in chief of the Journal, a curated art and culture quarterly magazine that he first started when he was a freshman at Montserrat and is now distributed to over 30 different countries. He is also the director of the Journal Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY where the most recent installation by Daniel Turner, entitled Mariana, was considered one of the top 5 Art Exhibitions by world leading contemporary art advisors, Nicolai and Michael Frahm. "The gallery shows a great selection of artists from Joe Bradley to Ida Eklbad, it is experimental, progressive, and a great place to discover new talent," they said. Lillian Harden, "Glass Houses"


Lillian Harden '08, admissions counselor, and student Brian Galderisi ’12 exhibited their work in a show entitled I Think I Saw You There at the Marblehead Arts Association throughout September. Harden’s mixed media sculptural pieces and Galderisi’s collages and drawings explored the subtle triumphs and failures of memory.


Billy Keohane, who studied two years at Montserrat and left after 9-11 to enter the military, said he continues to be influenced by the faculty who taught him. After serving in the war and learning he could cut hair (needed for the extremely hot conditions) he has opened the Salon PushPush in St. Augustine, FL. Nicole Pivirotto '05 interned with Milton Glaser and Zago’s design department since graduating from Montserrat. She is currently a freelance graphic designer who has worked with W.W. Norton & Company, Victoria’s Secret, Samsung, as well as other various design studios around New York.


Sean Closson '06 was interviewed for Concept Cookie, a new art educational site, about his own independent studio Coffee: Black Illustration.


Sean Palmatier '07 showed his paintings at Barnes & Noble in the North Shore Mall, was featured in a group show entitled Surreal to Abstract in the gallery of the Musculoskeletal Center in Peabody, and also participated in the Chain Letter project at the Samson Gallery in Boston.


Joanna Matuck '09 exhibited her illustrations in Enveloped at Blackbird Attic Boutique in Beacon, NY through November.
