"Wounded Knee" by illustrator Corinne Reid studentnews


Corinne Reid, class of 2011, from Salem, won the National Society of Illustrators Student Award out of 7,000 entries. Her work, "Wounded Knee," was on exhibit during an awards ceremony at the society’s headquarters in Manhattan this spring. Corinne was also the winner of several other regional awards for her work.


Kalimah Muhammad, class of 2011, won Honorable Mention at the recent International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards. Her name will appear in this year’s Grounds for Sculpture Catalogue and October’s Sculpture Magazine.


Bear Gallery: Montserrat students, who run two galleries exhibiting monthly exhibits, were asked by the Cummings Center last year to establish a gallery at the Beverly office park. The gallery was open during the academic year.


Eight Montserrat students were accepted into the 7th Arches Student Print Show hosted by Boston Printmakers. A Montserrat student, Kate St. Cyr '11, won the top prize this year. Twenty four colleges participated. The exhibit was held last spring at the Danforth Museum in Framingham. l
