Barbara Moody, "Not Still" Rob Rey, "House Mouse"


Illustration Instructor Rob Rey’s "House Mouse" painting was featured in Southwest Art Magazine’s September issue after it was selected in the 21 Under 31 Competition. Rey was also awarded Honorable Mention from the Oil Painters of America’s Online Showcase for summer 2011. robreyart.com


Instructor Greg Cook, who is also an art critic for the Boston Phoenix, curated the YouTube VideoFest: Afghanistan War, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of 9-11. Cook was also featured in The Boston Globe for the exhibition he curated and organized in the men’s room at the Museum of Fine Arts in July. A selection of his photos were featured in the June issue of Juxtapoz Magazine. The photos were part of an art project documenting public community spectacles.


Prof. Ron DiRito, chair of the Photography and Video Department, presented in a panel discussion on The Changing Landscape of Photography on Oct. 2 at the Marblehead Arts Association.


This past year, Kingston Gallery in Boston featured the art work of faculty members Judith Brassard Brown, Mary Bucci McCoy, Barbara Moody, and Rose Olson in the Annual Members’ Exhibition. Prof. Judith Brassard Brown, chair of the Foundation Department, also participated in Back Forty


show at Art Complex Museum in Duxbury. Prof. Barbara Moody, staff member Lauri Chertok, and alumnus Giles Laroche ’81, showed collage work in the group show Pieces at the Gallery Della-Piana. Moody also had a solo exhibition of her kaleidoscopic photo- collages at the Kingston Gallery entitled symmetree. Prof. Rose Olson‘s work was in Reaching for the Sky: 4 Artists Working with Color exhibit at the Hutson Gallery in Provincetown. Olson, Asst. Prof. Stacy Thomas-Vickory, and alumna Kathy Gerdon Archer ‘03, showcased work in Danforth Museum’s juried exhibition Off the Wall.


Asst. Prof. Tim Harney’s work was included in Matter, Medium and Meaning, A Contemporary Still Life Show at The Copley Society of Art in Boston last spring.

Printmaking InstructorDavid Bligh’s "Time and Space" artwork was in the International Print Center in New York show, New Prints 2011/ Summer Selected by Trenton Doyle Hancock.
