Charity Auction in memory of a founder member of Jalón Valley Help, Sylvia Anderson
Jalón Valley HELP started in 1992 with a small group of volunteers willing to give advice and assistance to people in difficulty due to illness, bereavement or other problems. Sylvia was already running a small charity shop in Parcent to help raise funds for the good of the local community and this became the principal source of money to buy equipment to lend out, such as wheel chairs, crutches, and nursing aids.
Sylvia was always most generous with her time and energy to make the shop a success, and she also went to help many people in their time of need.
When Sylvia died last year, because of all she had done over the years it was felt that something should be done in her memory. Jalón Valley Help decided to hold a Charity Auction and this will take place at El Cid Restaurant, Benidoleig on Friday 28th October at 1pm. The money raised will continue her work in the community.
In order to hold this auction 300 lots are required. These auctions are held regularly at El Cid and they auction all types of things from books and ornaments to bicycles and small pieces of furniture. Household, garden items etc. are needed. Jalón Valley Help are therefore appealing for items for auctioning to raise as much money as possible in Sylvia’s name.
Please bring all you can to the Help Shops A.S.A.P. Alcalali is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 1pm. Jalón is open 10 - 1pm Monday to Friday.
