What’s on in your area U3A Marina Baixa

Our summer BBQ was held on Sunday 31 July at the home of our secretary Joan Flint and her husband Bill. Over 50 members attended and the atmosphere was terrifi c.

There was a quiz with a very Spanish theme and “feely bags” which caused huge hilarity with some of the guesses as to what they contained. The food was never ending and of excellent quality and the result of detailed planning and organisation by Joan and help in preparation earlier in the day by all of the committee. Several members cooled off by using the pool which

included games of “pool net-ball”. The fun began at 4.30 in the afternoon and continued late into the evening. There will be several photographs posted to the website in due course but this one shows the magnifi cent setting.

Our general meetings are always on the 3rd Monday of the month (with the exception of August and December). If you would like to join us, our next General Meeting will be on 26 September at 10.30 am for an 11 am start at the Casa de Cultura, Alfaz del Pi. We are organising a variety of speakers to entertain us during the meetings. If you need any further information please either look at our website, where you will fi nd all the back issues of our monthly newsletter, at www.u3amarinabaixa.com or contact our Secretary, Joan Flint on 96 586 1226 or mobile 677 721 902.
