Female Focus


Careline Theatre: Professional actor and drama teacher, Lee Walker is to direct Careline Theatre’s autumn production, Graham Swannell’s A State of Affairs which takes a penetrating look at the state of marriage, sex and adultery of four very different couples. The play will be staged at the company’s theatre in Alcalali on the 6th, 7 th and 8th October. Tickets are priced

Creative images are stirring in the bosoms of out board treading Costa AMDRAM members as the sun, sea and whatever break starts receding into the setting sun. Time for artistic talents to be harnessed, directed and blocked into the oncoming theatre season, whether it be, drama, comedy, music or cabaret offerings. I wish everyone a good and successful season with potential stardom, best ever productions and of course the singularly most important factor – lots of lovely dosh for charitable causes.


ADHOC Theatre Company: On 17/18/19th of November, the Company will perform in Los Monesinos when they stage Run for Your Wife having been formed for a one off Allo Allo The VIP, and subsequently donating 3,200€ to Charity after just two performances nights on stage in Guardarmar and

Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: Rehearsals start on 7th of September at 19.00hrs in the New Med Studios down from the Esmeralda Hotel for a series of autumn concerts. They will include a selection from various operas and a complete version of Trial by Jury with performances at 20.00 hrs in the Salon Blau, Calpe Casa de la Cultura, Friday 28th of October and La Senieta, Teulada on 29th of October. Campoverde Theatre: Their next production will be Yestertainment on October 7/8/9th, at 20.00. Tickets 5€ on sale end of September. A pre- show meal will be served in the Olympia restaurant. On Sept 13th Rene and Edith of Allo Allo fame,

Cameo: The 2011 hit show Rollercoaster of Love will begin its round of autumn performances on Saturday 8th October at El Cid Restaurant, Benidoleig. Tickets 18€ including a delicious meal with wine included. Doors open at 19.00h, meal at 19.30h. The show will commence at 21.00hr. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, 3€ from each ticket sold will go to the charity MABS who will also be organising a raffle on the night. Cardinal Belluga Theatre Group: 50 members and guests celebrated Bernard Jackson’s 70th birthday but will be back hard at work on 12th September to rehearse the second production of Musical Kaleidoscope. This


will be staged on the 21st October at The Cardenal Belluga Theatre San Fulgencio. New members always welcome into the hearts of this friendly group. Meetings Mondays at the above Theatre. For further info and tickets for our next show please ring Maria on 966 715 891.


Footlights Theatre Group: The Company have moved into the New Med Studio in Calpe where they are rehearsing, Fiddler on the Roof. This will be staged in Alfaz del Pi on 11/12th November, Calpe on 21st/22nd November. Then by special invitation on November 23rd at the new Teatro Municipal, Torrevieja. Performances are at 20.00. Tickets on sale, adults 12€, children (under14) 8€. Box office for Alfaz and Calpe Tel: 656 376 769, Monday/Friday 11.00 to 13.00. Tickets for the Torrevieja show from the theatre or local RBL members.


GASP Theatre Group: entertained the crowds at the Gran Alacant July Fiestas with three comic sketches, two in English and one in Spanish which poked gentle fun at


Spanish bureaucracy. It was a steep learning curve and a great challenge but very much worthwhile. Despite attracting new Spanish members, this adventurous group need more people.
