A Christening in Denia
Serena who is 9 years old asked her Mum and Dad if she could be christened. Dad Mike approached Father Brian Griffiths of Denia church, and the baptism was organised.
Father Brian, and Margaret Rivers the churchwarden met with Serena and her parents to talk about the meaning of baptism. On July 31st
many of Serena’s friends and relatives made the
journey ( some all the way from England), to the church in Las Rotas, where there was a wonderful celebration of Serena’s baptism into the church, during the course of the communion service.

Teulada – Moraira Lions Club Summer Concerts Continue in September
Another great evening of music and dancing was enjoyed by locals and visitors alike at the second summer concert held by the Lions club o f Te u l a d a – Morai ra on August 14th. The musical entertainment was again first class with a blend of traditional Scottish and Irish folk songs as well as a good mix of rock ballads performed by the multi talented “Shamrockers”.
The show was augmented by a fine display of line dancing by the “Rodeo Stompers” which was very impressive and proved to be a crowd pleaser. Once again the lions had a successful and entertaining evening with generous donations from the audience, with a total of over 1000€ raised for local families in need. This sum was achieved by contributions from concert goers and for children’s face painting, an activity that again proved popular.
Lion President Dr. Nico Dekkers thanked concert goers for their generosity, the band and the line dancers and went on to say how much the contributions helped the local community.
The next event will be held on Sunday the 11th September at Moraira castle and will feature for the second time “Manhatton Jazz” with their blend of popular jazz music. The concert starts at 8pm and will also include face painting for children.
