First International Charities Fair Friday September 23rd is a day for your diaries: a combination of Costa Blanca charities will be represented

on this day at El Cisne Market and Antique Centre N332, Benidorm. The 15 charities involved so far have taken the opportunity to sell items new or used to raise funds for their work and to have a display of leaflets that will introduce their organisation to the public.

It will also be a chance for them to network and make connexions with the personnel involved in each charity. Although many already collaborate – a person in need may

need various services – this day will also bring together other nationalities whose services could increase the assistance available to any local resident.

Represented charities include Asociación Española contra el Cancer, Samaritans in Spain, Cancer support group MABS, Emaus,Benidorm, Help International,The Royal British Legion, Protectora de Animales, Dutch Veterans, Alzheimers Assn, Costa Blanca Chaplaincy/Gandia Franciscans, RAFA Wings Group, Anemona, As. Sahauris, Los Leones, Alfaz Cancer Charity Shop, APASA.

Organisers Pamela Dawson Tasker of AECC and Stephen Ashley of the Samaritans in Spain not only expect this to be a fun day out for the public and a useful, profitable exercise for all those concerned, but hope it will become a bi-annual event.

Apart from the charitable associations taking part regular stall holders will be filling the market that day and the Directors of El Cisne will make sure that the usual facilities are available to all with varied refreshments available and live music for entertainment as well.

We hope you will all support your favourite charity on the 23rd September and take the opportunity to visit those that may be new to you.

Entry is free and the market will be open from 10.00 to 15.00 hrs. For more information contact Pam on 96 686 0735 pdawson802t@cv.gva.es
