ARE you interested in making a difference? Every day of the year a group of dedicated

Tenant Connect volunteers make phone calls to older people who live alone and who often do not have support networks.

Red Cross now needs more people to help run this essential service. Volunteers make the calls from the Red Cross call centre in Broadmeadow from 7am to 10am.

Full training and continuing support is

provided. Volunteer co-ordinator Lauren Miles said becoming a Red Cross volunteer was very rewarding.

“It helps broaden your skills and helps your

community,” she said. Tenant Connect is a community program provided by Red Cross for older tenants living in public, community or Aboriginal housing. To find out about becoming a Tenant Connect volunteer, contact Ms Miles at the Broadmeadow offi ce on 1800 827 677 or at lmiles@redcross.org.au.
