Action From Page 71

There seems to be two chal- lenges people face with Inspira- tion. First, is to get in touch with their inner guidance and secondly, is to follow through with that guidance.

Meditation is a wonderful tool. Some people have great success with quiet, still mediation. How- ever, I am not one of those people. I have developed more of an active meditation which works for me. When I tend to my garden, lovingly prepare a meal for my family, take a walk in nature, journal, sweep the floors or even take a shower, I can do so with the intent to be perfectly in the moment, focusing on the task before me. I call this getting into the zone. This is not to be confused with rushing around, multi-taking a hundred other things at the same time. I do that at times too! This is a gentle, meditative action, focusing only on one thing. I allow the comfort of the activity to envelope me. It is in this space I find Inspiration. Some of my greatest ideas have come from here!

Next, is the challenge to then follow through with the inspired thoughts, moving into inspired action. Inspira- tion wants us to grow, to expand into something more than our current ex- perience, always moving us towards our goals and dreams. Sometimes, the doors open wide, making it easy. Sometimes, I have to initiate the movement; to meet Inspiration just outside the safety of my comfort zone. It is in those moments, fear sets in and I begin doubting myself with a series of “what ifs”. Before I know it, the dialogue with my Divine Guidance has gone from what is

possible into complete scenarios of what could go wrong. I have moved from what is possible into my limitations. I then remember, it isn’t about overcoming fear before taking action. Fear is part of the human experience, designed to keep us safe. I could never wait long enough for fear to leave! Instead, I listen to and acknowledge fears and con- cerns, thanking fear for watching out for me. Then, I make the conscious decision to move forward, to follow what I intuitively know is my truth. Even small steps in the direction of my dreams can lead to very reward- ing results.

tion at just the right time...this is the way the Universe steps up to meet us when we choose to trust. Be will- ing to step into action today, trusting that even if you don’t know all the details, Inspiration is right there with you, at all times.
