“Our new program, Lose2Win, offers weekly group meetings, motivational e-mails, exercise sessions, and ‘compassionate accountability.’ Facilitators have fitness-training and life-coaching certification. We feature ‘The Coach Approach,’ and NutriSum’s ‘Results Typical!’ workshops with five simple behaviors around whole grains, fresh produce, hydration, meal times/snacking, and daily exercise. Results include a 20-pound weight loss over six months for one participant, who learned to balance his wine-and-cheese habit with a newfound love for whole grains, fresh vegetables, and fruit, smaller portions, and recipes with herbs and spices for flavor. Another member is overcoming injury and increasing confidence as she gradually integrates group-exercise classes.” —|

“Anytime Fitness offers AnytimeHealth.com to members. This Web-based application works with Calorie King to provide daily meal-tracking and meal templates, based on the member’s goals. We staff each of our facilities with certified and degreed personal trainers, one of whom is a nutrition specialist who offers free monthly healthy-eating seminars. We feature a monthly success story in the local newspaper, and we have a ‘success’ board where members post their wellness accomplishments, which keeps them on track and inspires others. We offer 12 small-group training sessions each week (included in our memberships). Our philosophy is that anything that keeps the member using the facility and on track helps them manage their weight.” —|

“We offer a program called Weigh Way Less. We explain to new members that ‘calories in and calories out’ is a simple formula to understand, but harder to execute. During our weight-loss consultations, we design a program that combines exercise with calorie awareness. We teach members about food journaling and give them guidelines to follow over a 90-day period. We assess members and place them in a level of programming that will get them the results they desire. They meet with a coach weekly to help guide them and give them the support and accountability they need.” —|
