Bali-based Mandara Spa has opened its fi rst spa in Europe at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London. T e 700sq m (7,500sq ſt ) spa has a con-


temporary edge, but maintains a luxurious Asian feel. T ere are nine treatment rooms and the spa will be the fi rst in the world to off er Mandara’s bath, body and home prod- uct line alongside its body therapies, Elemis treatments and Bliss beauty services. Manadara is a subsidary of Steiner, which also owns Elemis and Bliss (see sb10/4 p54).


Peninsula Hotels to enter European market in 2013

Hong Kong-based luxury hotel operator Peninsula Hotels will open its fi rst European hotel in Paris, France in 2013. T e Peninsula Paris will feature 200 bed-


rooms and the interior will be designed by New York-based T ierry Despont. According to a spokesperson, the con-


cept designs are currently being drawn up for the hotel’s guestrooms and public areas – including the spa – which will feature contemporary fl air with reference to the building’s original belle époque style.
