County Sheriff’s Office arrested Carroll Douglas Pegg of Leicester on Sunday (Oct. 3). Deputy J. R. Redmond charged Pegg with felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Officers arrested Pegg at his home

on Old County Home Road. Te arrest report lists Pegg as an unem- ployed 52-year-old white male. In addition to the felony intent to

sell charges, Redmond charged Pegg with possession of a controlled sub- stance and possession of drug para- phernalia. Total bond for all three charges was set at $2,500. * In addition to Pegg’s arrest,

deputies responded to a larceny inci- dent on Green Acres Drive. Accord- ing to the incident report, on Sept. 27, someone broke into a resident’s storage shed and stole some tools. Te stolen tools include a welder

and cart, a chop saw and a power hand saw, and a camp stove. Total estimated value of the stolen items is more than $900. * On Sept. 29 DOT, workers

found seven guns by the side, of Newfound Road near the 1,800 block. Buncombe County Sheriff Lt. Randy Sorrells said it is not known why the guns were there. “Without knowing how the guns

got there, we will not speculate until the investigation is complete,” said Sorrells. Sheriff’s deputies will run the se-

rial numbers on the guns to see if they are registered or linked with an incident. According to Sorrells, there were

one or two pistols and several shot- guns wrapped in plastic. Tey will be treated as found property during the investigation. “If someone were to find guns like

this, they can call the Sheriff’s De- partment,” Sorrells said. “We’ll try to find out where they came from.”
