Te sixth annual “Cops for Kids


Bike Run” will take place Saturday (Oct. 9). Te fundraiser, hosted annually by the Weaverville Police Department, kicks off the “Cops for Kids Toy Drive” that delivers toys to needy North Buncombe children each Christmas. Te bike run is a 40-mile fun


ride that begins in the parking lot of O.T.S. on Merrimon Avenue and takes riders into downtown Weav- erville and through parts of Madi- son County. Entry fee is $10 or a new un-


wrapped toy valued at $10 or more. All styles of motorcycles, hot


rods, classic and exotic cars are welcome. Tose donating are also entered for door prize drawings, and free breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants. Tose who cannot attend may


mail their donations to Weaverville Police Department, PO Box 338, Weaverville, NC 28787.
