Weaverville selects new manager

By Matt Tate The Weaverville Town Coun-

Morgan, who steps down at the end of this month after 33 years in public service and 18 years as the town’s manager. Boaz, who will start in his

new position Nov. 8, comes to Weaverville from North Wil-

Michael holds bachelor of sci- ence and master of public ad- ministration degrees from Ap- palachian State University and is accredited by the Internation- al City Managers’ Association. Mayor Al Root said Boaz’s

expel the park’s grandfather status with the town after town officials reported a litany of infractions, in- cluding the dumping of raw sew- age, at the park, many of which had been ongoing for several years. Mobile home parks are not al-

lowed within Woodfin town limits unless they are annexed. Te alder-

men voted to annex the park on Old Marshall Highway in 2003. Woodfin Town Administrator

Jason Young said if the issues are fixed, the aldermen would reverse their vote and allow the park to continue operating. “Tey have to accomplish what

has been laid out,” he said of the park’s residents.
