PIT-Equipment Service PIT-EquipmentServices.com

How is business in your territory and how do you see the market performing in 2011? Contract manufacturers in the New York Metropolitan area are busy with work orders extending out into March 2011. They are back in hiring mode. Most have brought back and added personnel to their assembly areas. Technicians are in big demand at the moment. OEMs have also done well, reporting increases in business and profits over last year. Hiring assemblers in most cases is the current trend.

What new technologies have you seen emerging in your territory? We had a number of solar products being built in the territory, along with a big push in the area of LED lighting. Military and medical products still seem to be the areas where most of the electronics work is coming from at the moment!

What new technologies have you seen emerging in your territory? The most exciting technology we have seen is 3D AOI. This technology will revolutionize inspection capability. Additionally, real-time inspection during the placement of components without a time penalty is an exciting technology that will allow SMT production companies to provide true photographic documentation of PCB assemblies for traceabilility and verification of defect free manufacturing.

STI Electronics stielectronicsinc.com

How is business in your territory and how do you see the market performing in 2011? We see business in the Southeastern & Southwestern United States as better than last year but nowhere near a full recovery from the past couple of years. We expect a slow improvement in the overall market in 2011 and we also expect to take advantage of newer rising markets as we continue to integrate ourselves in the energy, lighting, and medical industries. We believe 2011 will be a good year for the companies that spent 2009 and 2010 reinvesting in their businesses to offer their
