The Middle Hosts Annual Wine Tasting
The Middle New Hampshire Arts and Entertainment Center
is pleased to host its ninth annual Wine and Beer tasting, sponsored by Fairpoint Communications and Cabot Cheese. This event will be on Thursday, October 28, at 6:30pm, at the Franklin Opera House. The Autumn Wine Tasting at The Middle will feature
wine and beer from Candia Vineyards, Moonlight Meadery, Haunting Whisper Vineyards, Farnum Hill Ciders, Harpoon Brewery and Flying Goose Brewpub. This event will also have live and silent auctions, with many items donated from businesses throughout the Lakes Region. Tickets are $20 each and can be ordered by visiting www.

Fiddlehead Farms Hosts Fall Food Festival
–Fiddlehead Farms in Dover and Alton is hosting their Annual Fall Food Festival Saturday, October 30th, from Noon – 4pm in Dover and Sunday, October 31st, in Alton from Noon – 4pm. Over 20 vendors will be sampling their wares under the awnings at Fiddleheads Central Avenue and new 77 Main Street Alton locations. Doors prizes will be drawn along with a grand prize of a $200 gift card. In addition there will be balloons for the kids along with local area exhibitors. The Annual Kids Costume Contest, which is featured
from 2pm – 3pm, has typically drawn over 50 kids. Prizes are awarded by age group and all children will get to paint a pumpkin. Fiddleheads which opened in October 2004 is home to

Lakes Region Symphony
Orchestra Inaugural Concert The Lakes Region Sym-
phony Orchestra’s inaugural concert of the 2010-11 season features a performance by the winner of their first-annual concerto competition for high school students, Miss Laurel Gagnon, a 15-year-old violin- ist from Hooksett. Laurel will be performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major. The concert will be held on
Saturday November 6,at 7:30pm at the Inter-Lakes Audito- rium in Meredith. Also on the program are Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance No. 8, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 41. Laurel Gagnon, age 15, is a ninth grader from Hooksett,
NH. She was recently named as the winner of the NH Phil- harmonic 2010 Youth Concerto Competition. She currently studies with Elliott Markow at the Manchester Community Music School. Tickets for individual concerts are $12 for adults and $6 for students 17 and under. Discount season tickets are avail- able from now through the November 6th concert. Tickets are available for purchase by mail, online at
