Providing heated water for pools without the need for supplementary heating, the units have a minimum operating ambient temperature of 7°C, with the Pro-Pac Reverse cycle system capable of operating in temperatures as low as -15°C. The ECA scheme enables pool operators using these units in any installation to benefit from 100% write-off against taxable profits for the first year. The domestic ‘Heatseeker’ heat pumps give pool owners the opportunity to substitute their electric or fossil fuelled heaters.
Waterco in conjunction with Paramount Pools Ltd, Waterco’s UK authorised heat pump distributor, released the new range of ElectroHeat Sub Zero Heat pumps earlier this year available in 16kW and 25kW versions. “Over the past few years Waterco has spent time and money in the development of the Electro Heat range of heat pumps to ensure that we are able to offer the market a heat pump of the highest quality to ensure maximum performance and reliability, and the Sub Zero models are a perfect addition to the existing range,” comments Tony Fisher Managing Director of Waterco Europe.
The Sub Zero version enables the consumer to extend the swimming season by using an automatic hot gas de-icing function, enabling it to continue to heat the pool water even when the air temperature drops below zero! The digital touch pad control panel provides a continuous digital pool temperature display and allows accurate pool temperature control in increments of 0.1 degrees! Also incorporating a self diagnostic system and the latest in “smart technology” ensures years of trouble free operation.
The Waterco range of heat pumps are all
manufactured in house at Waterco Canada located in Quebec and have quickly become known within the industry for quality, reliability and performance. Only this year Waterco celebrated the milestone of 50,000 heat pumps to roll off the production line which is a real testament to how well the heat pump has been accepted by the swimming pool industry and pool owner alike.
Being assembled in house and at their plant in Canada ensures that the highest quality control measures are followed and only the best components used. This includes top brand scroll compressors for quietness and energy efficiency, corrosion resistant pure grade titanium heat exchangers for greater heat transfer and resistance to corrosion, weatherproof ABS cabinets, extra large evaporators for maximum performance and a self management digital display so that the heat pumps become fully automated and works to the maximum efficiency. For 2011 Waterco have added the Sub Zero and Heat and Cool heat pumps to the popular ranges of ElectoHeat and ElectroHeat Plus units. Climexel Heat Pumps manufactured in Europe by Procopi are another range made to the highest standards with a loyal pool ownership following. The whole range are reverse cycle defrost models, and so work down to -15°C air temperature. They have all been tested to the European “Eurovent” Standard at 15°C air temperature and all our output figures use this much more conservative air temperature rather than the extremely rare (in the UK) 25°C that many of our competitors use to boost their performance figures. Climexel heat pumps achieve COPs of around five at 15°C giving an output of 5kW for every 1kW input power.
