ISOENERGY OFFERS SYSTEM SAVINGS ON ENERGY
After a hard day at work or play, what better way to relax by the pool than by knowing that it’s being heated via an efficient, cost effective and renewable system? Be it Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps or Solar Thermal, an environmentally friendly solution is easier than you might think, according to Justin Broadbent, Managing Director of Surrey based renewable energy installers Isoenergy.

“Outdoor pools are better suited to air source pumps because it results in a simpler system, with a more direct transfer of heat. Also, the higher air temperature in summer and the lack of any recovery time means that it is the most efficient solution.
“Indoor pools are better suited to a GSHP, although it is important to oversize the amount of ground
collectors, especially if the system is also heating the property. During the summer, it is also possible to draw heat from the house and place it into the pool, helping to cool the house. Furthermore, a well designed system can distribute energy to other specific areas in the property. This is not limited to pools, and can include wine cellars and saunas for example. Justin Broadbent has extolled the virtues of insulation in houses, and it is no different with pools. “In new builds, to make the pool an efficient thermal store, we recommend insulating around and underneath the pool itself,” he added. “Much as heat pumps thrive on well insulated, consistently heated homes, the pumps thrive on an efficient pool. “Solar thermal now also provides a viable heating solution for a pool. A pool can be heated by a set of panels only 40% of the size of its surface area. Solar technology is one of the fastest advancing areas of renewable technology and now includes panels specifically designed for pool heating. Once installed, the system can provide extra peace of mind knowing your pool is an efficient and green addition to your heating system.”

ASTRALPOOL INCREASES PRODUCT STOCKHOLDING BY 30%
AstralPool has improved and restructured its customer service operations and increased its stockholding of product by 30%. The company says it is constantly looking for ways to improve and develop its services and has been listening to its customers. The arrival of new Director of Sales, Albert Luis, has been a further catalyst for change and AstralPool has evaluated three key areas of its business – Customer Service, Stockholding and Technical Advice. Following this review AstralPool has now improved and restructured its customer service operations and increased its stockholding of product by 30%. NEW STYLE RUBBER ANTI SLIP DECKING LAUNCHED
A new rubber based anti slip decking has been launched into the specialist swimming pool trade – aimed at reducing the high number of slipping accidents in and around pools. The product is called Rubadeck and is brought to the trade through Rubaroc Safety Surface Ltd. “The key to this new product,” says Adrian Ayscough from Rubaroc”, is that it is made from rubber and is therefore much softer and better to walk on. Other non slip products are made from aggregates which have a more aggressive feel.” The product has attracted a lot of success in other trades and is being introduced to the pool trade as a unique decking surface. It was developed to reduce the dangers of standard decking products and combines a timber deckboard milled from sustainable forests with a rubber inlay.
It is supplied in either 2.1 metre or 4.2 metre lengths in packs of 10 in four different colours.
Rubaroc have patent pending applications registered for Europe, the United States as well as the UK and has made an application for patents in the Far East.
“We think this product will make a big impact in the pool trade. There’s a real concern about the number of accidents still happening in and around pools and this provides a different style of solution,” added Adrian.
