to take a good long break and to celebrate being out of the wind. The Cabin is open all year around and there is room for about 15 campers to spend the night for just $12 each.

there were no water cross- ings but there were some really steep sections to navigate. Going down always seems so much more difficult to us than going up. We joked that we couldn’t have possibly gone up this much and by the time we reached the car we would have to be in a deep hole! I don’t know why we didn’t walk up the rail- road bed but since we hiked all the way out to Route 2 we walked up the pavement. We felt really good stretching out our legs as we walked the mile from Lowe’s back to Bow- man. We tramped nearly 12 miles just under sev- en hours and the clouds never left the summits the rest of the day. Have Fun.
The Castle Ravine Trail travels right under Roof Rock. The large flat boulder makes a nice shelter/cave not far from the bottom of the headwall. The Randolph Mountain Club celebrated their 100th anniversary this summer. The Club maintains over 100 miles of trails on the Northern Presidentials and the Crescent Range. Visit their website
