Once again you are invited to take up the challenge and enter what has become The Annual Great Charity Walk. This is when the people of Hyndburn and surrounding areas join up with Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary club to raise valuable funds for a charity or good cause of their own choice. This might be a Nationally known charity, such as The NSPCC, Cancer research or a little known group such as your church fund, scout group or local football team. You can walk as an individual or you may decide to get a group together, and it’s so simple to get involved as all the organising has already been done by the Rotary club. The course is the same as last year, as things went very smoothly, starting and ending at Junction 7 Business Estate, opposite the entrance to The Dunkenhalgh Hotel. This circular course is approximately 7 miles around, a good proportion following the Leeds to Liverpool canal, and should take about 3 hours to complete. You can start the walk anytime between 9.30 am and 10.30 am and the walk officially finishes at 3pm. Every Walker must be registered, have an official Walker number, an entrance ticket and sponsorship form. The Registration Fee is £5.00 per person. To Register you can contact Mr Fred Pickering on :
