Churches Together in Great Harwood
The Churches Together in Great Harwood would like to thank all those people who turned up to support the “once every five years” Passion Play which took place in the grounds of Churchfield House on Good Friday. The outdoor production made up of a few professional actors and many local residents as extras put on a performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by some 200 spectators in spite of the pouring rain and the relatively low temperatures. The Crucifixion, which took place in Memorial Park, was a sight to be remembered. Thanks to all those from the various Churches in the town that made the Play such a success.
Great Harwood Civic Society
The Great Harwood Civic Society is to hold several events in the Summer to make the residents of the area more aware of the Society’s aims and ambitions. Commencing with the traditional Boundary Walk on Saturday, June 5th, it is hoped to host several events during that week culminating in a display of old “Arrod” artefacts on the Town Hall Square the following Saturday. More detailed publicity will be available in the June edition.
Catholic Community of Great Harwood
The Catholic Community of Great Harwood, the parish of Our Lady & St. Hubert with St Wulstan’s, will hold its first parish mission in 16 years from 14th to 20th June. Everyone is welcome to join in. As part of the mission there will be a spe- cial mass and anointing of the sick on Saturday 19th June.
