I have had a number of constituents complain that the cycle path is

people serving community service orders should be used to do work

A Kilmacolm constituent was in touch about the state of pavements
surrounding the West Glen Park recently. I contacted roads officials
at the council and after some investigation about who is responsible
about this I have been told that the matter will be dealt with either
by roads or environmental services. As well as letting the constituent
know this I also passed the information on to the chairperson of the

Recently I had the pleasure and privilege of being the
‘Inspecting Officer’ at this year’s Annual Inspection
and Display of The Boys’ Brigade 1st Lochwinnoch
Company and being a past member it certainly made
it extra special.
My congratulations go to all the officers, boys and
helpers who put in a lot of hard work to make it an
excellent and most enjoyable evening.
A century old and definitely going strong is the
Kilbarchan Scout Group and to mark the occasion the
Provost of Renfrewshire, Councillor Celia Lawson,
held a Civic Reception in the form of a lunch to mark the occasion.
My congratulations to all the officers, boys and helpers of Kilbarchan
Scout Group on their 100th Birthday.
Our communities are very fortunate that we have so many committed
and dedicated people within our uniformed organisations, who give
so much of their time to mould, guide and teach so many of our
young people through their early years of life and give them a terrific
grounding for their years ahead.
There is no doubt that any of our young people who have a lengthy
service in any of our uniformed organisations are certainly held with
esteem in later life especially when searching for employment.
As a parent and councillor who has certainly benefited from this
experience, I will certainly support all of our uniformed organisations
and their volunteers as best as I can.
