less than three years old, and dealing in nothing but JUNK,
has joined the ranks of the business elite with a surprise
announcement they’ve officially been awarded the coveted
“Investors in People” crown.
Ross Martin, Director of Junk-It Scotland Ltd, says “Junk
removal has traditionally suffered from a ‘white van man’
image and that is something we’ve been determined to change
since we started the business back in 2006. Today is without
question the proudest day in the history of our young company
because we’ve all worked tirelessly to win this prestigious
award and in so doing help to transform the public perception
of our industry. Sure, we might only be ‘junk guys’, but by
winning this award we’ve now proven that we’re damn good
3rd Annual Pound and Pace Walk
The 3rd annual Pound and Pace walk takes place on the 10th June
from Cornalees Bridge Visitor Centre at 11am with the participants
making their way around the 8 kilometre Greenock Cut. Participants
are asked to pay £1 for the walk and all money will be donated this
year to St Vincent’s Hospice.
There will be a raffle following the walk, with a variety of prizes
donated for the cause. Refreshments are provided after the walk,
and there will be a water stop about halfway around. This is a fairly
easy walk, with the steepest climb at the beginning, followed by a
fairly gentle walk back to the centre.
Whether you like to walk with friends or on your own, this is a great
way to enjoy this spectacular yet easy walk. There will be Rangers
and stewards along with the group. Registration starts at 10.30am
but walkers can arrive at the centre from 10am onwards. The start is
promptly at 11am and participants are asked to be on time.
So get out those walking boots and join like-minded people for an
enjoyable day out whatever the weather.
If you need any further information please call the Ranger Service on
