“Magical Muirshiel Moorlands”
Discover some of Clyde Muirshiel’s wildlife with the Ranger
by joining them for a walk along some moorland tracks from
Muirshiel Centre on Saturday 27th June, leaving the centre
at 1pm. Listen to the natural sounds of the moorlands
far from traffi c noise – Meadow Pipits, Skylarks, even the
droning of Bumble bees fl ying over the heather moors.
Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of Red Grouse and
the fabulous wind-dancer the Hen Harrier. This is a great
opportunity to tune into the natural world and forget about
the cares of daily living for a few hours. This will be the
third of the fi ve public moorland walks over the summer
to enhance the enjoyment of moorland habitats, however
groups of six or more can book a Ranger by phoning the centre and
arranging to have a private walk if they wish.
There will be a free bus from Lochwinnoch available with collection
points at Lochwinnoch Railway Station, RSPB Reserve entrance, and
fi nally The Cross in Lochwinnoch, returning after the guided walk. To
reserve a place on the bus and/or the walk or for further information
and details call Muirshiel Centre on 01505 842 803 as soon as possible.
Bus seats will be given on to booked places fi rst.

Sad & Shocking - It’s rubbish....
A group of conscientious youngsters took it upon
themselves to clear rubbish from a play area within
Kilmacolm. Not for charity and not for extra pocket
money, they were just disgusted by the mess they
found.
Lauren Black, Chloe McGinn and Julie McGinn spent an
afternoon clearing rubbish from the ‘wee burn’ in West
Glen Park, Kilmacolm. They were amazed at the amount
of rubbish they picked up. Hopefully, after seeing the
amount collected those less considerate individuals will
think again before dropping their litter!
It’s our beautiful Village; let’s make an effort to keep it
that way!
