Renfrew areas.

service points or you can complete an eform. If you require further

Cottage Garden Annuals
Plants classifi ed as annuals last for
one season only; once their fl owering
season is over, they die. They can fi ll
the spaces left by early bulbs and cover
up for developing perennials. They
can be used for hanging baskets, or to
fi ll tubs that later will be planted with
bulbs. They should not be planted out
until all risk of frost has passed. Grow
familiar favourites such as cornfl owers,
marigolds, nigella [love-in-a-mist],
cosmos, petunias and nemesia.
Marigold
Geraniums, with
their informal looks and tolerant nature,
have a special place in the garden.
They require so little maintenance, are
quick to establish and have a ‘cottage
garden look’. After fl owering cut
back old growth to just above ground
level. Flowering will start again and
continue until just after the fi rst frosts
of autumn.
