Kilmacolm Friends of Ardgowan Hospice
Kilmacolm Friends of Ardgowan Hospice thank everyone who supported
their Tombola Stall at the Agricultural Show on 9th May.
The committee is most grateful for the donations of baking and
bottles. Despite the adverse weather, the excellent total of £1301
was raised.
Race for life 7th June
Gillian Hardie is taking on a massive challenge this year by
participating in the “Race for Life”. It is expected that in excess of 13,000
woman from all walks of life will take part this
year, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The event is staged at Glasgow Green on 7th
June, with the participants completing a 5k
route. Gillian will be one of the exceptional
competitors who has personally come through
the life-changing experience of being diagnosed
with cancer.
Following her diagnosis, with surgery and
subsequent chemotherapy, Gillian had to take
a 6 month sabbatical. It is only now that Gillian

feels she has regained enough strength, energy

Gillian would like to extend her gratitude to
her family, friends, staff and clients for their support throughout this

Aid of St Vincent’s Hospice
“Get your friends together, imagine you are
in Havana and put some ﬁ re under your feet
at the Viva Latina Ball, Saturday 13th June,
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow in aid of St.
Vincent’s Hospice, Howwood.
The evening starts with a Red Hot Cuban
welcome reception, then a themed dinner
will be served followed by an auction and
rafﬂ e. We are delighted that Craig McMurdo
- “That Swing Thang plus the Swingcats”
11 piece band, who gave us a memorable
evening at the Gatsby Ball, will once
again be providing us with some fabulous
Latin Rhythms and popular dance music.
Entertainment and guidance will be provided
by competition dancers, who will take us to
the streets of Havana with an exhibition of
Salsa and an invitation to step on the dance
ﬂ oor. Our host for the evening will be George
Bowie from Radio Clyde, with Sheila Bone as
guest Auctioneer.
