Our vast portfolio includes surfactants, emulsifiers, polymers, emollients, chelating agents, active ingredients, pigments, UV filters, natural oils, preservatives, silicones, humectants, fragrances, lactates, biocides.
Brenntag’s European Cosmetics Laboratory based in Amiens (France) works on the development of innovative formulations, assessment of specialty raw materials, sensory analysis, troubleshooting and search for cosmetics performance solutions for our customers across Europe.
The Brenntag team have looked at a number of applications such as skin creams, masks, lotions, cleansers, oils, micellar waters, butters, hair styling, protection and care, colour cosmetics, UV protective sun care formulations, baby care concepts. They have recently focused on creating ideas with novel ingredients such as Cosmos/ECOCERT surfactants, renewable carbon sources, naturals and vegetable derivatives, as well as preservative boosters and natural choices for preservation. For instance, the Cosmos/Ecocert chelatant Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate allows the reduction of the preservative’s dosage up to 90% in many cases, particularly gram negative bacteria, in addition, the use of Salix Alba extract, a natural choice for cosmetics preservation system, offers a totally natural preservative system, mainly proven by challenge tests.
