N — In 1958, General Steel Cast- ings (GSC) offered railroads a 60-ton flatcar with center well section for carrying tall, oversized loads. East- ern Seaboard Models brings this in- teresting prototype to N scale with its new GSC 60-ton well car release. The model’s body and assorted details are injection-molded plastic, while the well section and underframe are die-cast metal. Similar to Eastern Seaboard Models’ other well-done N-scale freight cars, this new well flatcar promises the same level of intricate and accurate detail. This model rides at prototypical height on Atlas-made Barber S-2 friction truck sideframes with 28-inch low-profile metal wheels produced by Fox Valley Models. Eastern Seaboard Models includes body-mounted Micro-Trains
No. 2004 knuckle couplers on its well car and recommends operations on 10-inch or greater radius track. Road names in this first release include Allis-Chalmers (orange with black lettering), Conrail (Tuscan Red with white lettering former Lehigh Valley), Delaware & Hudson (black with white lettering), Lehigh Valley (Tuscan Red with white lettering), New York Central (black with white lettering), and Penn Central (Deep- water Green with white lettering).
