HO — A limited number of Centu- ry Green 40-foot sliding-door box- car kits are available from New York Central System Historical So- ciety (NYCSHS). The car is Accurail- made, and the car’s numbering and decoration follow the appearance of a 1959 repainting that presented a large “cigar band” herald on the car sides. New York Central’s Des- patch Shops built the prototype in 1949 (168000–168999). The model was this year’s convention car for NYCSHS, and its road numbers are exclusive to this release; the mod- el is also part of Accurail’s line in New York Central colors and letter- ing. Check the NYCSHS website for this special HO-scale boxcar kit and many other products available from the society’s company store.
