Delta and Virgin all set for summer
DELTA Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways’ transatlantic partnership has kicked off the summer season with six new daily services and up to 39 return flights a day between the UK and 15 destinations across North America.
The joint schedule includes 10
daily flights between Heathrow and New York,
departures to New York-JFK and two to Newark. Virgin Atlantic has a second-daily
service between
Heathrow and Los Angeles, with the first-ever Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in Los Angeles opening this month. Also new is a seasonal second Virgin
daily service between
Heathrow and Atlanta, and a second Heathrow to San Francisco service operating five days a week. Virgin has taken over Delta’s Manchester to Atlanta service. Further joint venture services will be introduced later in the summer

Studios Hollywood is
marking its 50th anniversary with new attractions that will include the park’s first-ever night-time studio tour.
The park’s slate of new 2015 attractions will include a ‘Night-time Studio Tour’, designed to enlighten guests on moonlight movie-making.
Under a blanket of stars, over 20 Studio Tour locations will showcase an array of luminous onset lighting and special effects used in night- time production. It will include Marilyn
cameo appearances by
Monroe, Norman Bates and Frankenstein and will run every weekend July 4 to September 7.

New AA departures
AMERICAN Airlines has added additional flghts from the UK to both the east and west coasts of the US. The airline introduced a second
daily direct service from Heathrow to both Los Angeles International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport on March 29 and March 30 respectively. Both destinations are
‘hub
airports’ for American. The second daily flight to Los Angeles will depart London Heathrow at 12.15, arriving at 15.30. The return flight will leave California at 17.50 arriving into Heathrow at 15.30. The additonal Philadelphia
service will leave Heathrow at 08.20, arriving at 11.40. The return flight will leave the
City of Brotherly Love at 09.45, arriving back in London at 22.10.

Record US numbers
THE US welcomed a record 75 million international visitors to the country last year, an increase of seven per cent over 2013. Christopher L. Thompson, CEO for
Brand USA, said “We are proud to see this latest increase in visitation to the country and to be one step closer to our goal of welcoming 100 million international visitors annually by 2021.” The UK retained its position as
the top overseas market for the USA – excluding Canada and Mexico – with visitation increasing by 3.6%, rising from 3,835,308 visitors in 2013 to 3,972,655 in 2014. In addition, inbound travel from Ireland to the US grew to 395,037 in 2014, an impressive increase of seven per cent from 2013.
