airport.co.uk) is investing more than £500,000 in airport facilities, including a fast-track security channel for Flybe’s London City passengers and a new executive lounge. Flybe will operate 110 fl ights a week across 16 routes including Alicante, Faro, Malaga, Palma and Deauville in Normandy, a new service starting in June. Travellers through Birmingham Airport (
birminghamairport.co.uk) will have more choice this summer. Flybe begins a three-times-weekly service to Deauville, France, on June 22. Turkish Airlines has increased services to 12 times a week
to Istanbul and Emirates will add a third daily service to Dubai from August. New routes from Leeds Bradford Airport (
leedsbradfordairport.co.uk) this summer include Jet2. com and Jet2holidays to Malta, Tunisia, Cephalonia (Greece) and Antalya (Turkey); Monarch and Cosmos Holidays to Naples (Italy); Omega Holidays to Friedrichshafen; and Ryanair’s reintroduced services to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Manchester Airport (
manchesterairport.co.uk) is also
offering a wider choice of fl ights. Thomas Cook will begin a twice-weekly service to Miami from May 3. This summer, easyJet will fl y to Pisa, Marseille and Porto and Jet2 will operate to Antalya, Kefalonia and Malta. Qatar Airways has recently increased its Manchester-Doha service to twice daily from 10 fl ights a week. The new kid on the block, Southend Airport (
southendairport.com), welcomes a new easyJet service to Mahon, Menorca, on June 26. easyJet fl ights to Split and the Greek islands of
Corfu and Rhodes will operate from Newcastle Airport (
newcastleairport.com) in June. Inghams has introduced fl ights to Verona from Cambridge International Airport (
cambridgeairport.com)
this summer and has added Lake Iseo, Lake Ledro and the South Tyrol to its Italian programme. SUN-AIR has started a daily Monday to Thursday scheduled service from the airport to Gothenburg, Sweden. Flybe is now fl ying year-round from Belfast City Airport (
belfastcityairport.com) to Liverpool John Lennon Airport with four fl ights a day midweek, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
