The Manor at Sway
The Manor at Sway hotel and restaurant in Hampshire reopened in February following a month-long refurbishment that transformed it into a modern country house hotel. The design uses the building’s classic features, such as high ceilings, original sash windows and stained glass, alongside bright colours, bold wallpapers, patterned tiles and warm tones. It retains its country house roots, with a low-lit drawing room full of books and a pair of French doors in the bar area that offer a panoramic view of the gardens. Owners Tim Holloway and Edlyn Cunill bought the property in January 2014 and immediately set about restoring it. The pair met in the hotel industry, with Holloway having worked at Delano in Miami, USA, the Cadogan and the Boundary hotel in London’s Shoreditch. Cunill worked in the art sector in London until recently, but started off at the Raleigh in Miami Beach.
