JASON ATHERTON REVEALS FEMALE FOCUS FOR SOCIAL WINE AND TAPAS

Jason Atherton has revealed details of his seventh London restaurant, Social
Wine and Tapas in James Street. The wine shop and bar will include counter tables on which tapas will be served. Atherton told the London Evening
Standard he would bring his wife Irha into the business to head the new site. She will be joined by group sommelier Laure Patry. He said that putting his wife
in charge would provide an antidote to the male domination in London’s kitchens.

Ask Italian is set to open its third restaurant of the year when it launches a site in Maidstone in Kent in early April. The brand has already opened sites in Swindon in January and a new flagship site in Manchester in Piccadilly Gardens last week.
Club on Pall Mall and will also be prepared with its executive chef Philip Corrick. The four top chefs will
cook alongside students from Bournemouth and Poole College, University College Birmingham, Westminster Kingsway College and the University of West London. The event will help to fundraise
for the Adopt a School initiative, which sends professional chefs into schools to teach about food, nutrition and cookery.
MONKEYNUTS STEAKHOUSE TO OPEN SECOND SITE Steakhouse and wine bar brand MonkeyNuts is to open a new site in Whetstone, north London, in spring 2015. The 4,000 sq ft, 100-cover basement and ground floor venue will be the second MonkeyNuts site from Gideon Joffe, son of Giraffe founders Juliette and Russel Joffe. Joffe also runs the Chez Bob’s
restaurants in Belsize Park and Chooks in Muswell Hill. The new site acquisition
was secured by leisure property agency Shelley Sandzer.
