News In Brief

Help us to recognise the industry’s finest by Richard Eagling

O

ver two years on from the introduction of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and it is fair to say that the

financial services industry continues to face a challenging environment. In particular, a distrust of the industry among consumers remains a barrier to engaging with financial providers and advisers.

The extent to which trust has been eroded has been highlighted by a survey by PWC, which revealed that just 28% of consumers trust financial advisers, while 27% trust insurance providers and 12% trust fund managers.

Key to tackling this mistrust of the financial services sector is demonstrating the value that the industry can add and highlighting the providers and advisers who can make a difference through their client-centric service and propositions. The Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts Awards recognise those providers that have consistently offered the most competitive products and best levels of service during the last 12 months, while also honouring the advisers who have excelled in delivering the very best client experience.

The winners of the 2015 Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts awards will be revealed at an evening awards ceremony on Tuesday 15 September 2015 at the Lancaster London Hotel.

However, in order to ensure that only the most deserving organisations are recognised, we need you to tell us which providers and products have most impressed you during the last 12 months. Within each category you are free to vote for any provider that you feel is worthy of the accolade, rather than selecting from a pre-determined shortlist of providers. If more than one provider has impressed you in a category, you can nominate your top three providers in order of preference.

The categories that we are looking for you to cast your votes in are as follows:

Service Awards

The service awards are designed for those providers that have consistently offered first class service and adviser support over the last 12 months across the protection, healthcare, pension, annuity, investment and structured products sectors. We would also like you to vote in our popular ‘Service Beyond The Call of Duty’ category, an award which recognises a one-off event or series of events where a provider has offered a truly exceptional level of service, and gone that extra mile to offer you support or assistance.

Product Awards We also need your help to identify the providers offering the best propositions across the different areas of the protection, retirement and investment markets. When voting for your favourites please consider the availability of the product, charges and pricing, its flexibility and the features and options it offers.

Innovation Award

Innovation is key to ensuring that products and services keep pace with changing consumer needs, and is particularly topical given the forthcoming pension reforms. As a result, we would like you to tell us which product or service you feel has been the most innovative and exciting launch of the last 12 months. All product areas - protection, pensions and investments - can be considered.

To register your vote, simply visit www.moneyfactsgroup.co.uk/Awards/ilp/ Voting and complete the online form. A nomination is not essential for every category, but for your responses to be valid and to be entered into our prize draw, the survey must be completed by midnight on Friday 22 May 2015. The first name drawn at random will win a Pebble Smartwatch.

Adviser Awards Finally, there is a chance for you to shine by entering our Adviser Awards. These recognise the best adviser organisations and promote excellence in financial advice across four different disciplines:

• Investment Adviser of the Year • Retirement Adviser of the Year • Tax and Estate Planner of the Year • Health Adviser of the Year.

Entrants will be asked to complete a questionnaire providing details of their organisation, their level of expertise and how they deliver their advice proposition. To request an entry form, or forms, email ajoyce@moneyfacts.co.uk stating the name of the category, or categories, you wish to enter. The deadline for entries is Friday 22 May 2015.
