Welcome to the March issue of Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts
Change brings opportunity, and it is hoped that the introduction of the New ISA regime (NISA), with its higher limits and increased flexibility, will not only encourage a greater savings culture, but also lead to better investment choices. ISAs have proved to be a phenomenal success since they were introduced almost 16 years ago, but whether individuals are making the right choices as to where their money is being invested is questionable.
Worryingly, cash ISAs remain the default choice for many investors despite record low interest rates. Although stocks and shares accounted for a larger proportion of ISA subscriptions last tax year, they still only represented less than a quarter of all ISA business. In this month’s issue we look at the changes to ISAs and consider whether investor behaviour will be influenced by the new framework.
It is also that time of year again when we ask for your help to identify the best investment, life and pensions product and service providers of the last 12 months. Voting has now opened at
www.moneyfactsgroup.co.uk/Awards/ilp/Voting and all participants have the opportunity to win a Pebble Smartwatch.
I hope you enjoy this month’s issue.
