Over the past few years there has been an increased focus on retention, competence
development and succession planning within Volvo Group. At the Volvo Construction Equipment GB Dealership we have been making huge investments in people development; one example of this being an in-house Degree which was launched in 2010 and delivered by tutors
from Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University.
The BA Degree in Management & Leadership was the solution we needed to deliver a high level,
internationally recognised development programme, which could be mapped to the Leadership Pipeline and add real tangible value to our business.
Delegates attended their graduation ceremony on 16th October 2014; all obtaining
solid passes and with several receiving first class honours Degrees.
As well as a success story for the business it was
a very proud time for the delegates and all involved in making the programme possible.

I’m aware of the commitment required to obtain a Degree qualification, so am especially proud of the delegates for doing this whilst balancing the work with full time busy jobs and a family life. The programme involved a large investment from the Company so it was vital that it added value back to the business. Now that the programme is complete I can say that I have seen not only heightened management skills in the delegates, but also, tangible and
