When replacing incandescent bulbs from recessed light fi xtures, use energy-effi cient bulbs that are rated for that purpose. For example, the heat buildup in down lights will signifi cantly shorten the life of spiral CFLs.

Great Attendance and Nice Weather Helped Make LREC 64th Annual Meeting a Success
LREC had a total of 982 registered members, with an esti mated total, including family, near 3,000 in att endance.

Mayfi eld and Lynn Lamons were both elected to keep their positions on the board. This year on the ballets,
LREC asked for the approv- al to form a for-profi t tele- communications subsidiary. This resolution passed with 792 Yes votes and 77 No votes. The profi t from the
telecom-
munication subsidiary will be returned to LREC. With a subsidiary, the cost of the telecommunication
services
will not, effect the electric cooperatives rates. LREC will continue to be a non-

Members could use food coupons to enjoy a meal at the annual meeting prepared by local volunteer fi re departments.
