Best Rail Operator VIRGIN TRAINS Virgin Trains operates high-speed and frequent services over the entire length of the West Coast Main Line. Sleek and distinctive tilting trains link the UK’s capital with Birmingham, Manchester, North Wales, Liverpool, Preston, Carlisle and Glasgow. Best Short-Haul Airline EASYJET Easyjet operates the UK’s largest air transport network, flying more than 600 routes between 130-plus airports in 30 countries, with a leading presence on Europe’s top 100 routes. Easyjet was founded with the vision of creating a customer-focused brand that would revolutionise air travel and, almost 20 years on, it is still making flying easy and affordable for over 58 million passengers each year. Shortlisted: Air France KLM, Cityjet, Finnair, Norwegian Air Shuttle


The judges were impressed by the innovative steps KDS has made in rethinking corporate self-booking tools. The company’s SBT helps to speed up the decision-making process for travellers, has a clear concise interface and helps improve traveller experience and productivity.


The judges said Carey’s entry ticked all the boxes. There has been substantial growth in a highly competitive marketplace, and they were impressed by Carey’s good client retention and customer satisfaction scores, as well as its excellent CSR credentials.


The judges all agreed that this was an excellent product from a company that really has its eye on the ball. They said Europcar demonstrated tangible and material benefits to the corporate customer.


This was a strong submission, and the judges were particularly impressed by Airplus’s new mobile solutions, innovation and understanding of traveller needs at all levels.


The judges felt this operator was clearly targeting the corporate market. They were impressed by the company’s growth, 100 per cent client retention rate even where there was competition, excellent CSR credentials and good employee recognition scheme.


The judges liked Easyjet’s proactive engagement with the corporate market, representing a change in approach. They were impressed with its extensive short-haul route network, its young fleet, the introduction of new flexi-fares and its much- improved punctuality record.
