Typhoon victims benefit fromsalon
support Salons and therapists trained in the Lava Shellsmassage technique have been working hard fundraising for the Disaster Emergency Committee and similar charities following the devastation caused byTyphoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines in November 2013.
Shared Beauty Secrets, who ethically source theTiger ClamShells used in the treatment fromthe Philippines, sent out a plea to their 1,500 clients to support themin raising funds for the people affected by the typhoon. The company previously donated on amonthly basis to the SOS Children’sVillages charity, but its call to therapists, plus exposure in local newspaper the OxfordTimes, has so far raised in excess of £3,000 and the company hope donations will total £10,000.
Coty Inc. acquiresOPI
distributor Global beauty company Coty Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire the UK distributor of OPI, LenaWhite Ltd.
OPI is already one of Coty’s core brands, and the purchase is expected to directly lead the development of the OPI brand in the UK, its second-largest market, while also further strengthening OPI’s presence in the professional salon channel via the integration of LenaWhite’s expert personnel.
“This acquisition is a natural next step in growing one of Coty’s 10 power brands, OPI,” saidMichele Scannavini, CEO of Coty Inc. “The OPI business strategy remains focused on the salon professional and the prestige channel, and we expect to accelerate growth of the brand through the integration of the product into our international distribution platform.We welcome the LenaWhite Ltd teamto the Coty family.”
