brand awareness
For twenty years, Lynton Lasers has manufactured and provided a myriad of Laser solutions and aesthetic equipment to the medical, cosmetic and beauty industries. This month, we take a look at the story behind the brand’s success…
Having both graduated from Oxford University with first- class honours degrees in Physics, the founders of Lynton Lasers firstmet in 1994 whilst undertaking postdoctoral research into LaserTechnology at the University ofManchester.
Sharing a passion for the subjectmatter, the two physicists began working together and their joint research ultimately pioneered the use of Q- switched Nd:YAG lasers for tattoo removal and the treatment of pigmented lesions. Seeing a fantastic opportunity, they decided to establish Lynton Lasers and launched one of the world’s first Q-switched Lasers – The Paragon Laser. Unsurprisingly, the newly- founded company was immediately inundated with orders fromaround the world and thus began to supply the device to doctors and clinicians.
Since these early beginnings, the brand has grown fromstrength to strength and has introduced a plethora of new Laser and IPL systems into the aesthetics arena. “Lynton is proud to offer high quality products that deliver outstanding clinical results but which are exceptionally good value,” says Jon Exley, Lynton’sManaging Director.

“We have a teamof PhD scientists who design, develop and test all the products in our portfolio to ensure that our systems work to the highest standards and use the latest technology. Lynton manufactures and supplies Laser and IPL Systems which are designed and built to strictmedical device standards, and also have FDA Approval.”
During the course of Lynton’s history, the brand has honed its focus on developing a product range tomeet the needs of all types of clinics and salons. “By establishing our own clinic, The Lynton Clinic, in 2007, we also gained a full understanding of how to generate revenue fromLaser / IPL treatments, and this has subsequently influenced our product range which now caters for all types of business,” explains Jon. “For example, the Luminette IPL Systemoffers fantastic value as an entry level IPL systemfor salons looking to start offering such treatments for the first time.”
One of Lynton’smost popular launches to date has been the Lumina. Designed andmanufactured in the UK, the device allows therapists to address a wide range of client concerns including treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions, Acne, hair removal, tattoo removal, fractional skin rejuvenation andmuchmore. “Many years ago Lynton developed a concept where customers could invest in a platform systemwhich they could upgrade to expand their treatment range as their business grew and prospered,” comments Jon. “The resulting product was the world famous Lumina IPL and Laser platform.”
He continues: “The Lumina combines multiple technologies which enables the systemto offermany different treatment modalities, which in turn allows the clinic or salon to generatemore revenue. However, unlikemany platformsystems, the Lumina is a medically certified device and is designed to be versatile without compromising clinical efficacy.
“Uniquely, the Lumina combines IPL and Laser hand-pieces with active Q- switched Nd:YAG. The systemis designed to be upgraded, and so the recent launch of the Fractional Erbium YAG hand-piece has been exciting for both new and existing customers (who can purchase the hand-piece to add to their existing systems.)”
the importance of education
As the brand’s origins lie deeply rooted within the educational sector, it’s no surprise that the importance of learning runs through the very core of the company. “Lynton believes that training is critical if we are to continue raising standards, and our teamworks hard to ensure that Lynton training courses are the best in the industry,” explains Jon. “Training and support is a key aspect of our service and we have a highly qualified teamof clinical trainers who all have a hands-on clinical background with our products.
“Following the initial training, practitioners will occasionally require further advice as they gainmore experience, develop their skills and wish to further extend their capabilities,” he adds. “Lynton is uniquely placed to help, with expert clinical advice available fromour practitioners at The Lynton Clinic (open six days a week.)”
