14 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Belize City. Day 2 Crooked Tree Visit the Howler Monkeys at the Community Baboon Sanctuary at Bermudian Landing. Travel on to Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, an important wetland habitat and home to many birds and Green Iguanas. Evening boat cruise on lagoon. Day 3 Ancient Mayan pyramids We take a boat upriver to the jungle covered ruins of ancient Lamanai, where we enjoy a picnic lunch. Day 4 Belize Zoo and Rescue Centre After an early morning walk along local trails at Crooked Tree we travel west to Belize Zoo to learn about local animals and birds. We then drive on to San Ignacio on the Macal River. Day 5 Xunantunich Crossing the river on a traditional hand-winched ferry we visit the ancient Mayan site of Xunantunich. From the pyramids we take in the views over the forest and into Guatemala. Day 6 Free day in San Ignacio. Opportunity to visit

the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tikal in Guatemala, or participate in local activities. Day 7 Hummingbird Highway We travel along the beautiful Hummingbird Highway to the Blue Hole for a swim, then continue south to the small beach resort of Placencia Day 8 Free day in Placencia. Opportunity to snokel on the barrier reef Day 9/10 Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Reserve Travel to the reserve and stay in a simple jungle lodge. Walk the forest trails looking for signs of the elusive jaguar. Day 11 /13 Caye Caulker Drive to Belize City and take a water taxi to the Caribbean island of Caye Caulker. These days are free time to take the opportunity to relax, enjoy boat trips or to snorkel or dive in the warm waters of the reef. Day 14 Return to Belize City by water taxi. Tour ends Belize City.
