My eldest son has been travelling on Explore Family Adventures for 10 years now. At the time, he was the youngest ever Explore customer to travel, aged 5. Since then we’ve been trying out a huge range of activities, from kayaking and surfi ng in Nicaragua to game viewing in South Africa and windsurfi ng (and ice cream eating!) in Croatia. Most recently we travelled on the Tropical Islands and Jungle tour in Thailand, snorkelling, exploring caves and riding Tuk Tuks through the bustling streets of Bangkok. Most importantly though, we always come home with fantastic new friends and amazing memories - and that’s what it’s all about.
We had a fantastic boat-based adventure in Turkey last summer, ‘Cruising the Turquoise Coast’. With swimming and snorkelling from the boat every day and no need to drive from A to B it was more relaxing than our previous Explore tours, but with all the same ingredients that make each holiday so memorable: lots of fun, plenty of activity, a great group and that elusive balance between activity and relaxation. I’m always amazed how quickly the kids click with each other and how well they get on. Last summer, as so often happens, none of them wanted the holiday to end!
With holidays to China, Greece and Tanzania, it’s been a busy year for us. Such diverse destinations, but each one providing the enviable opportunity to interact with the locals, enjoy the wildlife and engage with the culture. History has never been so interesting, and each holiday has a great mix of activities and highlights to entertain the kids and adults alike. Predictably, I’ve made a host of new friends, young and old along the way. Asia here we come!
As soon as my son was old enough for the Toddler Tours - we were off! The Mountains and Souks tour was perfect for us; neither my husband nor I had visited Morocco before and we were keen to experience the sights and sounds of a more exotic destination. We were lucky to travel with a great group of like-minded families, all the children got on brilliantly and the tour leader Hassan took great delight in his mischievous young guests! It was a great adventure, I’d highly recommend it. Where to next?
After such an amazing fi rst time family tour to India with Explore, I really thought it was going to be diffi cult to better the experience. How wrong could I have been? Nepal was next, and gave us many fi rst time experiences including: trekking with the kids, riding on elephant back in Chitwan, white-water rafting, sleeping in teahouses and experiencing religious ceremonies. Kiran, our tour leader, was outstanding and turned our family holiday into an adventure of a lifetime. Jordan is next ...
