Bathed by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, this little-known volcanic archipelago of islands rise dramatically from the Mid-
Atlantic Ridge. We base ourselves on Sao Miguel, the main island. With terrain that is often compared to that of Iceland or New Zealand it provides us with a wealth of activities. We take a boat to search for whales and dolphins, try sausages cooked in natural ovens cut out of the ground as well as enjoy the stunning landscape by cycle and kayak.
