In this rural corner of Western Europe we discover a landscape of forested hills, mountain villages and shimmering lakes. Day 1 Join tour Seville airport. Travel to Castano del Robledo village, near Aracena. Day 2 Cycling A gentle 20km ride through the beautiful Aracena National Park with a chance to cool off in a river en route. Day 3 Walking Hike 5km to the pilgrimage site of Alajar and travel to Aracena town by bus. There is the option to explore one of Spain’s largest cave systems, a ruined 13th century Knights Templar castle or to go horse riding. Day 4 Kayaking Cross the Portuguese border to Mertola and kayak 7km down the Guadiana River. Day 5 Off-road excursion A free day to explore Mertola or take an optional four wheel drive trip into the hills. Days 6/7 Beach Time Travel by boat, train and bus to the southern coastal town of Tavira. Take a ferry out to sandy islands a short way offshore where we can swim and relax on the vast sand dunes.
