EcoCanopy supports extended services St Mary’s was the first of two EcoCanopy pre-engineered buildings to be commissioned by Buckinghamshire County Council in 2012. The brief was to provide a new nursery and extended services provision for St Mary’s and All Saints School in Beaconsfield. The new building consisted of a large multi-purpose room that could be split into three separate areas, entrance lobby, kitchen, adult, children’s and accessible toilets, office and plenty of storage. Externally 165 sqm of soft play area was installed along with a new grassed park area complete with playground equipment. The project was completed within ten weeks on site and within budget.

Training children in effective hand hygiene


Cutler Cleaning Supplies provides washroom products to nurseries and schools, including hygienic sealed cartridge Deb foam wash soaps and child friendly ‘Ollie’ dispensers, specially designed for the company by Deb Ltd. Cutlers has now developed a new resource pack to help school staff to train children effectively in hand hygiene. Available on CD, ‘Wash Your Hands with Ollie’ provides hand washing training for Key Stage 1 & 2 and includes an interactive film presentation, pupil PowerPoint presentation and a teachers’ resource pack. A quiz is included at the end of the film and reward stickers and certificates for pupils are available to complete the training.

Improving the environment for nursery users Sure Start Birchills Nursery in Walsall has once again utilised the services of Weatherite Building Services (WBS) to improve the environment for both staff and children attending the facility. WBS was awarded the contract to design, supply, install and commission a new air conditioning system for the nursery playrooms. It selected Daikin ceiling mounted cassette units as they are not only energy efficient but have a unique 360o


airflow discharge ensuring even


temperature distribution across the room. WBS covers all aspects of building service including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, commercial kitchen ventilation, IT cooling, and offers a total project management solution.
