Compact fan convector with high heat output

Hardwearing one-component Lacquer

Junckers HP ONE is a new one-component, water based polyurethane lacquer designed to improve the way wood floors are lacquered, making the process faster, easier and more efficient. Suitable for both commercial and sports installations, it requires no manual mixing. It works on previously finished, untreated or machine sanded floors and is compatible for use with all of Junckers’ existing lacquers and primers. HP ONE is as hardwearing as the two component lacquer and is available in the same finishes – UltraMatt, SilkMatt and Gloss. It can be recoated after three hours with full resistance achieved after three days.

Model designs raise awareness of Street Children

Panel Systems responded to a request from Threefold Architects to provide the charity Street Child World Cup with Styrofoam models to enable three schools to make models of the cities of Rio de Janeiro and London. Panel Systems designed the Styrofoam base models using its CNC machining capabilities to cut 16 blocks of Styrofoam into two basic pyramid shapes, a rectangular shape and a circular shape. The architects chose Styrofoam for the base material of the cardboard city models as it is lightweight and strong – suitable for transporting the models to St Pancras and St Paul's Cathedral, where they were displayed.

With its compact size, Myson’s iVECTOR fan convector requires minimal wall space despite its high level heat outputs, which offers schools and universities a flexible and practical solution. It provides a rapid response to changes in temperature, delivering heat when required and yields good heat outputs even when operating at low water temperatures. The iVECTOR features silent operation at normal fan speeds, intelligent easy-to-use controls and the ability to cool when linked with a reverse cycle heat pump. It has a 24/7 programmer, night setback setting, and also a built-in option to link to a BMS.

Colourful and acoustic solutions for academy

Rockfon ceiling and wall solutions were specified throughout the new Heartlands Academy in Birmingham for their visual appeal and performance characteristics, and to help achieve compliance with BB93 guidelines. The design inspiration for the atrium was the iconic TV test screen image. Rockfon Color-all acoustic wall absorbers in colours – plaster, concrete, black and chilli red – were installed together with Rockfon Contour baffles. These created striking visual impact and defined the double height space. The wall absorbers work with the baffles to control the amount of reverberation in the open atrium and help to reduce reverberation time and improve the ambient sound level.

Glazing systems for University of Strathclyde A variety of glazing systems from Kawneer have met a range of design and performance criteria for two remodelled buildings at the University of Strathclyde. The AA720 HI renovation TIP windows, whose narrow sightlines mimic those of the original steel windows, AA605 medium- duty swing doors and AA100 zone-drained curtain walling with 50mm sightlines and glazed in opening vents have been combined to provide the desired aesthetic of the six-storey Lord Hope building in Glasgow. Its neighbouring building, Curran, features Kawneer’s AA100 curtain walling and latest AA720 tilturn windows on the third and sixth floors.
