High-Performance Pressure Transducers from Measurement Specialties

Hampton, VA — Measurement Specialties (NAS- DAQ: MEAS) has expanded its line of pressure sen- sors with two compact, high-performance units for demanding industrial applications. The M7100 and U7100 feature high reliability at a low price point. The new IP67-rated pressure transducers

withstand high vibrations as well as harsh condi- tions, such as dust particles, contaminated water and corrosive fluids, making them suitable for use in demanding engine, vehicle and industrial appli- cations. Their compact size is suitable for many of today’s on-highway and off-highway engines, HVAC controls and energy and water manage- ment equipment. Designed for high reliability, the M7100 and

U7100 eliminate wire bonds and use only one PCB as well as only a few components. Total error band (TEB) is 1 percent over the sensors’ –-40 to +125°C operating temperature range. Output voltage is 0.5 to 4.5VDC. The new sensor has a pressure cavity

machined from a solid piece of 17-4 PH stainless steel and comes standard with a 1/4 NPT pipe thread for a leak-proof, sealed system, with other port sizes available. The sensor provides a pres- sure range from 200 to 10,000 psig and uses the company’s Microfused™ silicon strain gage for exceptional sensing characteristics. Constructed of 316L stainless steel, the new

High-performance pressure transducers.

U7100 offers exceptional durability with a variety of leak-proof, all-metal pressure connec- tions, handling a lower pressure range from 15 to 150 psig for more precise applications. The unit inte- grates the company’s proprietary UltraStable™ technology for excel- lent performance and long-term sta- bility over wide temperature ranges. Both sensors have stainless steel her- metic pressure ports to protect the integrity of the internal components. No internal O-rings or welds are used, further enhancing long-term durability of the sensors. In addition to being water resistant to 1 meter, the new sensors can be customized

for high volume applications. Contact: Measurement
