BOBBIN BICYCLES It started as a shop, but then the brand went bananas and the team focused efforts there. Bobbin has gone on win plaudits from trade partners – IBDs and chains alike – expand globally and win praise from the media.


FROG BIKES The quality childrens bicycle market has been dominated by just a very few players but Frog has shaken that up with well made, well received lightweight bikes for two to 14 year olds.


GIANT


This dominant player has been in the manufacturing game for forty years, regularly earning plaudits from the press across all segments. It aims to develop cycling, supporting retail and pushing the technology boundaries.


KINESIS UK Upgrade’s in-house homegrown bike brand is now offering more high-end bikes and has seen success due to its understanding of the local market in the Four-Seasons bike category.


MODA


Now at Moore Large, premium bike brand Moda is another homegrown name offering road, trck, cycle cross, trekking and junior bikes.


SINGLETRACK One lobbiest told BikeBiz that Singletrack was a reliable resource and he wasn’t alone in that thinking – the site this year broke through the million unique user threshold.


TOTAL WOMEN’S CYCLING A new voice in the online cycle media, Total Women’s Cycling is for women that love to ride, with gear reviews, news, guides and more coming from the Factory Media stable.


NON-SPECIALIST MEDIA


THE EVENING STANDARD London’s local paper has dedicated pages to cycling – almost on a daily basis – as well as a keen pro cycling editorial stance. The paper has teamed up with the LCC on occasions too.


GIZMODO.CO.UK Maybe not the best known in its category, but Gizmodo actually has a keen eye on the cycle world, dedicating increasing editorial on the world of two wheels with news and reviews.


THE GUARDIAN For some time, national newspaper The Guardian has used many column inches for cycling online and in the paper itself.


ITV CYCLING ITV has been one of the most significant public faces of cycling of late, launching the Cycle Show and through its Tour de France coverage alongside highlights from a range of cycle events.


THE TIMES Even a cursory glance at the headlines of cycling over the past year or two will reveal the huge role The Times has played in the world of cycling, from coverage to politician galvanising campaigns for safer cities to cycle in.

Raleigh has been seeking to up its game on its road bike range, backed through Team Raleigh, splitting its efforts in across leisure and race including classic, endurance and performance.


HOPE A visit from David Cameron, plans for a R&D Velodrome...Hope hasn’t struggled to make headlines, but it’s the quality of its components an service that have kept it such a widely valued brand.


KNOG Knog’s worldwide following shows no sign of abating. Eye-catching marketing hasn’t hurt, but increased R&D and a serious road light (Blinder Road) and 38 international design awards have also more than played their part.


LEZYNE Last year’s winner, Lezyne thrives on dealer feedback. With a clear sense of style and in- store POS, Lezyne is packing a punch for its age, with its entry into the LED market a highlight.


TREK


This year Trek brought its Project One customisation service to its mountain bikes, offering ‘unparallelled custom options’ to consumers. Trek opened its first store in Scotland and this year got behind BikePark Wales.


P&A BRAND


CAMPAGNOLO Celebrating its 80th anniversary, Campag last summer announced it was ditching its cycle clothing range to focus on core business. So loved is the brand that you can add a Campag factory tour to your Thomson Bike Tour holiday.
